In a unexpected crossover event that defies traditional expectations, Ubisoft has unveiled an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.

According to the formal announcement, "A mysterious meeting leads characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where hints of prohibited rituals and fearsome changes echo through the shadows." The storyline introduces a "strangely dressed woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a important location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her ally from a secret group.
The questline focuses on "peculiar tests and a terrifying adversary" and is accessible to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Familiar Settings and Metamorphoses
The trailer features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The trailer ends with a powerful scene showing a character, probably the prisoner, changing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Players who accomplish the mission will receive an exclusive katana alongside numerous artifacts hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
